Mexican butterworts have shallow roots and like to be kept in lightly moist substrate. I'll show you how I prepare my pots and trays for my pings whether its for mother plants or propagations. I use four different substrate for the pots. Bottom part of pot is sphagnum moss and top third is ping mix, which is made up of equal parts of peat moss, pumice and vermiculite. Enjoy the video! This is by far the easiest, most successful method for propagating Mexican butterworts (tropical pinguicula) in my experience. I have had a high rate of success with carnivorous leaves, and it is nearly foolproof with winter leaves.
