Here's how I approach fixing bad audio which is suffering from particular frequency spikes or interference, by using the Notch Filter in Premiere Pro. I thought my Rode Wireless Go might have been getting interference from my phone but in fact it was the cheap Lav mic I had plugged into it which wasn't properly shielded, so as a result it acted like an antenna. The first fix is always preventative. Make sure you triple check your levels prior to recording and have multiple mics recording on every shoot [cut to rode close up, then lay mic]. So if one mic fails and the other is picking up external noise or rumble, you have another backup. However, that’s not always possible. Can it even be fixed? Yes! We just need the right tools and a little knowhow and we’re good to go. Now bear in mind, fixing bad audio will never make up for properly recorded audio. Audio is really important, without it, your footage will “feel” terrible. Even the best looking footage in the world won’t work without good audio. Let’s dive in and see how we can correct it. Firstly you’ll either need to be using Adobe Premiere or Adobe Audition for this to work. I’ll show examples on both.

This is a quick tip for Adobe Premiere on how to fix a video file that plays back with poor audio quality. This will also effect the export quality of the media. This tip is for source files that playback fine, but then have an issue when played back in Adobe Premiere. Hi Friends, in this video I'm showing you how to use Adobe podcast enhance within your Final Cut Pro workflow to fix bad audio and remove background noise from vocal footage. whether you want to remove background noise, remove white noise or hiss, remove interference or even remove really annoying noise like talking, cars, crowds etc, then this tool could help. This new free ai tool from Adobe has blown my mind with how easily and effectively it can remove background noise and enhance audio. Whilst it doesn't seamlessly integrate with Final Cut Pro X Ive created a very simple method to extract the audio and then re-import the enhanced audio and continue editing.
